Google Sheets is a free web spreadsheet software offered by Google that is used at both personal and professional level for editing, organizing, and analyzing different types of data. Google Sheets is part of the free Google Docs Editors suite that also includes tools such as Google Slides, Google Docs, Google Forms, and many more.
Google Sheets provides us with information pulled directly from a Google Sheet saved on your account, of which data can be visualized in various chart types including line charts, bar charts, area charts, and tables. Data from all of these report types can be viewed in dashboards and reports on Oviond.
Connecting Google Sheets On Oviond
Google Sheets connects to Oviond using your Google account login details (email address and password). This authentication only needs to be done once per Google account. Once you have connected the Google Sheets integration to one of your clients in Oviond, you will then be able to select which spreadsheet you wish to pull data for when creating a widget.
We have a comprehensive help center article that will answer all questions around the permissions, limitations, reconnecting, and possible error messages.
Data Available On Oviond For Google Sheets Widgets
In a slight deviation from how data is pulled for most of our other integrations, Google Sheets doesn’t make use of set metrics, data views, or dimensions. Instead, Oviond will be able to pull metrics directly as you have set them up in your Google Sheet columns, meaning that you will be using custom metrics in your widgets.

Using Google Sheets In Dashboards And Reports
Google Sheets can be created in dashboards and reports on Oviond and works seamlessly to neaten and pull directly into our reporting platform. We have designed the widget builder to be completely intuitive, offering you the ability to easily report on data displayed in Google Sheets, or reimagine it in the form of a graph or scorecard.
Templates Available For Google Sheets On Oviond
Because Google Sheets data in Oviond is based purely on Sheets in your Google Drive, it’s not possible to create templates for this integration. However, it is possible to create your own custom template if you wish to replicate a dashboard or report using the same Google Sheet.
